Good teaching involves mastery of strategies, content, language and classroom management, as well as passion for teaching. It requires bridging theory and practice, consulting learners, and leaving the "ivory tower" to immerse oneself in teaching. Most importantly, good teaching listens to students, asks questions, and is responsive to each unique student and class. Effective teaching should be rewarded, while poor teaching needs remediation through training programs.
